CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.
CranioSacral Therapy releases tensions and restrictions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction improving whole-body health. It focuses on the concept of “primary respiration” and regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid using a light therapeutic touch, which helps free up the central nervous system so it can perform at its best, naturally relieving pain and stress, strengthening the immune system, and enhancing health. Once tensions are released the entire body can relax and self correct.
The CranioSacral system is a rhythm pump like the heart and lungs that spans between the cranium and the sacrum connected by membranes. These tissues create a semi-closed hydraulic pump system that bathes the spinal cord and brain in cerebrospinal fluid, which provides vital nourishment, detoxification, and protection. A healthy and balanced CranioSacral rhythm energizes the functioning of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system.
Swedish Massage refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits of Swedish massage are wide-ranging and include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation, decreased stress and muscle tension, a balance of the musculo-skeletal systems, and improved range of motion. Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
